The hidden jewel of the European Community. It is time to look east and widen your horizons. The investment and holiday possibilities are endless. Do not miss out on this growth market.
Hungary was admitted as a full member of the European Union in 2004 and shares borders with several countries including Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia.
The country measures 35,921 sq. mile with a population of 10 million. This gives a population density of only 280 people per sq. mile. The climate of the Carpathian basin in which Hungary is located, is basically continental. However, the geography of the country limits the impact of climate and weather fronts, so that the territory of the country is very suitable for agriculture. This makes for beautiful undulating terrain reminiscent of the English countryside of times past.
This is a wonderful country with the romantic city of Budapest at its heart. Lake Balaton to the west of the city is the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe. This area is renowned for its thermal spas, and its wide variety of country pursuits including: - horse riding, sailing, fishing, golf, tennis, cycling, hunting, bird-watching and hiking.

Before you do anything else we strongly recommend you check out the Lake Balaton area and view a selection of properties to see if everything is to your liking. We try and make this experience as enjoyable as possible. But rest assured we keep things nice and relaxed and avoid pushy sales techniques - when you see how nice everything is in Hungary we have found that we don't need to persuade anyone - the country itself does the selling ! read more...

Hungary was part of the polyglot Austro-Hungarian Empire, which collapsed during World War I. The country fell under communist rule following World War II. In 1956, a revolt and announced withdrawal from the Warsaw Pact were met with a massive military intervention by Moscow. In the more open GORBACHEV years, Hungary led the movement to dissolve the Warsaw Pact and steadily shifted toward multiparty democracy and a market-oriented economy. Following the collapse of the USSR in 1991, Hungary developed close political and economic ties to Western Europe read more...
